Giants Daniel Fells Could Lose Foot As Condition Worsens Report Says

The report, citing an unnamed person with knowledge of Fells’ condition, said the MRSA staph infection has worsened and required five surgeries thus far. Amputation is a possibility as a life-saving measure.

Fells, 32, was hospitalized Oct. 2. The Giants have scrubbed their facilities, including the locker room, training rooms and meeting rooms, in order to prevent the infection from spreading.

The Giants placed Fells on injured reserve.
