That’s why the team waited 40 minutes after the new league year started to announce the trade was official on Twitter. In comparison, the Browns tweeted about the deal being official two minutes after the new league year started at 4:00 p.m. and have tweeted about him seven times after within the first hour (and we’re not even counting the retweets from players/sub accounts about the news).

The Giants, after a 40-minute delay, didn’t even mention Beckham’s name in the tweet or the graphic that went along with the tweet.
All they announced was that they acquired a bunch of players. Cool. But like, what did you give up to get that? The link to the announcement does announce Beckham, but this is Twitter we’re talking about. No one is clicking links on this website.
The Giants were going to get bashed on Twitter either way, but it’s still hilarious that they went in this direction of completely ignoring the OBJ factor in this deal. As a result, Twitter users had a field day with the tweet.
