Beckham, whose absence is said to be precautionary, is nursing a sore left hamstring that kept him out of the team’s OTAs last week. The Giants are being cautious with him after he missed all of training camp and the first seven games last season with an injury to his right hamstring.
The same goes for Cruz, who tore the patellar tendon in his right knee in Week 6 against the Eagles and missed the remainder of the season. He has been recovering from surgery but is expected to be 100 percent to start training camp.
Beckham took the reins as the No. 1 receiver in Cruz’s absence, catching 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns en route to Rookie of the Year honors.
