Today, Sony released a brief ‘Making Of’ feature detailing the rigorous effort developers are putting into historical accuracy. It isn’t new that Ghost of Tsushima will follow the events of the first Mongol invasion of Japan, but the amount of research and care on the part of the developers is both eye-opening and encouraging for anyone looking forward to the forthcoming PS4 exclusive. From developer Sucker Punch Productions (Infamous), Ghost of Tsushima is a single-player stealth action game that takes place in 13th century Japan on the island of Tsushima....

Says Fleming that when Sucker Punch first started working on a new game it had decided only that it would be a “large, open world experience” with melee combat. The setting and story for that game was still uncertain. A pirate game was one of many options that were considered before the team decided on feudal Japan. No reason was provided for opting not to make a private game, but Assassin’s Creed’s Black Flag may have contributed to choosing a different idea....

This isn’t the first trailer Ghost of Tsushima has received recently. It was only a couple weeks ago that PlayStation released its “A Storm is Coming” trailer that featured some of the breathtaking cinematics for the game. The trailer also helped to clue players in on some of the narrative and thematic elements they will be facing. Ghost of Tsushima’s newly added “Lethal” difficulty mode is a step in the right direction for players who like tough combat, but also for players who want that combat experience to be as immersive as possible. The extended trailer at The Game Awards showed additional contextual scenes for the standoff in the woods. Before the battle with Jin, the Mongol clan were disposing of dead bodies, presumably those of corpses belonging to the local village. They then proceeded to pack up the cart full of supplies, also potentially implying that the clan raided the village. As the showdown happens, the trailer cuts away right after Jin pulls out his smoke bomb....

In order to get a chance to play Ghost Recon: Wildlands’ beta, fans will need to visit Ubisoft’s website right here to sign up and get the full rundown on all of the details that are currently available in relation to the trial. GameStop announced today that the retail version of Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is available for pre-order, both in-store and on the retailer’s website, and this version is exclusive to GameStop. Ghostwire Tokyo sees people mysteriously disappearing from the titular city in a spooky action-adventure game befitting Mikami and his studio, Tango Gameworks. The trailer does little more than announce the game, as several details are clearly being held back, but it seems the game will channel some mysterious, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima-like elements. The player character appears to be a hooded bandit with a bow and arrow, though, if that’s any indication about the game....

While Tango Gameworks is now owned by Microsoft, Ghostwire: Tokyo is a PS5 console exclusive for a limited time. Its unique exclusivity deal is the same as Deathloop’s, which was generally considered to be one of the best games of 2021. Ghostwire: Tokyo will most probably release on Xbox consoles after this exclusivity period ends, and it should be available on Xbox Game Pass on the same day. In addition to the PS5 version, Ghostwire: Tokyo will also launch on PC, and Tango Gameworks has now detailed its system requirements....

For years, the MCU has ignored the idea of mutants and the X-Men, but that’s all changed in 2022. Sony has long held the rights to mutants thanks to their own X-Men films that ended with the critically hated Dark Phoenix film. However, the rights to those heroes have finally landed in the lap of Marvel, and the company has made it very clear that the characters are going to be making an appearance on the big screen at some point in the not-too-distant future....

The discovery of the giant teeth belonging to the prehistoric shark that is believed to have lived between 23 million and 2 million years ago took place in the Bahia Inglesa Formation, located in the Atacama Desert near the Pacific coast of northern Chile. The megalodon — whose name means big teeth — was “by far the largest shark of all time, a super predator whose length is estimated to be between 16 and 20 meters (52 and 66 feet) long,” said Pablo Quilodran executive director of the Atacama Paleontology and Natural History Research and Advancement Corp....

Gimelstob was sentenced to three years of summary probation after he pleaded no contest to one misdemeanour count of battery with serious bodily injury in Los Angeles last week.
