Police in Racine, southeast Wisconsin, were alerted to reports of a shooting in the area of 21st Street and S. Memorial Drive at about 11:42 a.m. on Sunday. When officers arrived, they found the girl had been shot multiple times, said Racine Police Department in a January 9 statement. The 14-year-old was transported to a nearby hospital and later airlifted to Milwaukee for treatment. The police statement said the girl was “conscious and is in a stable but serious condition....

Thames Valley Police officers were alerted to reports that a dog had attacked a child in Netherfield, Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31. Officers quickly confirmed that the child had been killed and the dog removed and “humanely destroyed.” No one else was injured in the attack, and specialist officers have offered their support to the family. According to the U.K. Office for National Statistics, 22 people were killed by dogs across the country between 2013 and 2019....

Tom Burko, 38, his wife Josie Burko, 39, and her daughter Lillie from a previous relationship, caught the disease soon after they went to the Grant County Fair in Washington on August 18. Lillie and Tom’s 70-year-old vaccinated mother, who also attended the event and suffered a breakthrough infection, managed to recover. But Josie Burko was not so lucky and died on August 28 at their home in Moses Lake, Washington....

Earlier this week, Ubisoft released the official Year 1 roadmap for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, featuring three expansion packs to arrive within the first year. Thankfully, the drought of news about the next addition to the Call of Duty franchise may soon be over. In a recent radio interview with talkSPORT Craig Fairbass, the voice of Ghost in Modern Warfare 2 discussed his work for the Modern Warfare games and described a recent trip to Los Angeles where he was working on an undisclosed game, quite possibly Modern Warfare 3. This could be the first real substantial news we’ve heard in the direction of Modern Warfare 3, and a possible confirmation that Ghost will be making a return in the sequel....

48 hours ago, Drake, who is a Toronto Raptors superfan, posted a photo of an unreleased black Nike t-shirt with the phrase, “I Need a Freak,” on it. The reference was certainly to Giannis Antetokounmpo, whose nickname is ‘The Greek Freak’. Fans of both the singer and the NBA champion began to speculate soon after the post whether the two were collaborating on a line of merchandise, but there is no official confirmation on this yet....

Antetokounmpo, who was named the NBA’s most valuable player last season, is contracted with the Bucks until 2020-21 and his future plans have already sparked speculation around the league. “I’m not gonna talk about it a lot this season, and I’m not going to try to address it,” Antetokounmpo told reporters on Monday. Kapler, 44, was fired by the Philadelphia Phillies last month after two disappointing seasons during which they went 161-163. The Giants announced the appointment of Kapler, who replaces Bruce Bochy after the 64-year-old retired at the end of the 2019 MLB season. “Our top priority in the next manager was to find someone who can build strong relationships with our players, coaches, front office and fans, and someone who has the drive and desire to win,” Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi said....
